With this album John Fillmore Quartet brings a new, lively and exciting blend of fiery Flamenco, Latin grooves and smooth Jazz music. While staying true to the traditional structures of Flamenco music, the Quartet takes you on a journey through new harmonic and melodic sounds. John Fillmore, Franklin Heilijgers, Ron van Holland and Paul Weiling explore new boundaries within the Flamenco realm without loosing sight of traditional Flamenco.

John: "I had the idea of recording an album that was only Flamenco guitar without any percussion, singing and other instruments, purely guitar. We recorded it in a 16th century church in Derbyshire, England. It was very cold in the church as we only had one heater. On the third day, we'd just got warmed up and had to stop recording because the bell ringers turned up for practise! We managed to get it all done in five days!”
This recording is the culmination of six years collaboration with the Dutch guitarist, Jasper Lockefeer.
Barrameda taken from the town of Sanlucar de Barrameda in Spain where John's performance at the Flamenco festival was very well received.

After studying in Cordoba for some time, John came back to Holland to record the music he composed there, being very heavily influenced by the Flamencos in Cordoba. Axerquía is the name of the neighbourhood where John lived in Cordoba.
